Cathedral Music Series

November 8 & 9: Twin Ports Choral Project - 7pm 
The season opens with the Twin Ports Choral Project, a beloved ensemble known for its dynamic and expressive performances. This concert promises to captivate with a carefully curated program of choral works that explore themes of faith, hope, and renewal.

December 2: The Four Tenors Concert - 7:00pm
Experience the powerful and moving voices of The Four Tenors in a concert that showcases their incredible range and artistry. This evening will feature a selection of sacred and classical favorites, blending the beauty of the human voice with the grandeur of the Cathedral’s setting.

December 6 & 7: O Holy Night – The College of St. Scholastica Choirs - 7:30pm 
The College of St. Scholastica Choirs return with their annual "O Holy Night" concert, a cherished tradition that heralds the Christmas season. Under the direction of skilled conductors, these choirs will present a selection of Advent and Christmas music, filling the Cathedral with joyous and reflective sounds.

December 9: Lessons and Carols at the Cathedral - 5pm 
The beloved tradition of Lessons and Carols returns, offering a serene and reflective evening of scripture readings and music that traces the story of the Nativity. Join us for this special service that brings the community together in anticipation of Christmas.

December 22: Messiah - Borealis Chamber Artists - 1pm 
Borealis Chamber Artists will perform Handel’s Messiah, a cornerstone of the sacred music repertoire. This performance features a full choir and orchestra, bringing to life the timeless beauty and drama of Handel’s masterpiece. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Messiah in a setting that enhances its spiritual and emotional impact.

December 24 & 25: Christmas at the Cathedral 
Celebrate Christmas with special services filled with carols, scripture readings, and the warmth of the Cathedral community. These services are the heart of our Christmas celebrations, bringing together music and worship in a joyous observance of the holiday.

March 30: Organ Recital: Stations of the Cross - 2pm 
Organist Chuck Sundquist will present a recital featuring the powerful and evocative Stations of the Cross by Marcel Dupré. The recital will be accompanied by readings of Paul Claudel’s poetry before each station, narrated by Michael Barone, the radio host of Pipe Dreams. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear this music during the Lenten season.

April 18: Tenebrae at the Cathedral - 7pm 
Join us for Tenebrae, a service of darkness, where the Cathedral will be filled with the solemn and moving music that reflects on the Passion of Christ. This service is a powerful preparation for the Easter celebrations, offering a moment of reflection and contemplation.

April 19 & 20: Easter at the Cathedral 
Celebrate the Resurrection with our Easter services, featuring joyous music, uplifting scripture, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Cathedral in full bloom. These services are the pinnacle of our liturgical year, filled with the promise and hope of new life.

May 18: Latin American Baroque - 2pm 
The season concludes with a unique and historic concert featuring the music of Antonio de Salazar. Borealis Chamber Artists, led by renowned scholar-musician Craig Russell will bring to life the rich and vibrant sounds of 17th-century Latin American Baroque, music that has not been heard since it was performed at the Mexico City Cathedral centuries ago! This is a rare opportunity to experience a piece of musical history in the Cathedral’s inspiring setting.
