Learning

Learning about Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith is a dynamic, life long, endeavor.  On our life journey from Baptism to memorizing our first prayers as children, preparing for, and receiving the Sacraments, to being called by God to a vocation, even to the very end of life, we learn and grow in faith. The priest and staff of the Cathedral are ready to support and help parishioners, parents and their children, to have an experience of meeting Jesus and being changed by the encounter.

We offer Wednesday night classes for children Kindergarten through High School ages.  There are specific classes to prepare children and their parents to receive 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist for 2nd graders who are not enrolled at Holy Rosary School, and for 11th and 12th graders who wished to be Confirmed.

RCIA or the Rite of Christian Initiation classes are offered for people who wish to becomes members of the Catholic Church. These classes normally form in the Fall of the year and are completed at Easter the following Spring.

There are ongoing Bible study groups for people with diverse interests and schedules.  There is a women’s group that is currently studying Acts of the Apostles on Thursday afternoons, and there are groups that get together on Wednesday nights to meet the needs of parents whose children attend religious education.  During certain times during the year, there are groups that meet Sunday mornings between Masses.
